Wedding photography at Skyroom, Long Beach

I have not photographed a wedding at the SkyRoom in such a long time that I forgot how wonderful of a venue it is. Jayne & Steve's wedding was so memorable in so many ways. I've never spoke to a bride as much as I did with Jayne. She's so laid back and very personable. She took all the planning and preparation to heart to make her family & guests have an enjoyable time. As with their engagement session, their wedding had a Great Gatsby feel. The SkyRoom is similar to the Queen Mary. Once you step foot within the premise, you really feel you've stepped into the past. From Jayne's invitations, bridal gown, bouquet and overall retro style, it was all reminiscent of the 20's. It was such an intimate wedding but hosted with impeccable style and grace. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to meet a wonderful couple and capture memories from their special day. My second shooters really help to make the day a success, thank you Maribel Farina for all your creative shots and watching out for my camera bag which I'm prone to leaving behind and freaking out when I forget where I've left it.

Graduation Portraits

When Courtney first contacted me about taking her graduation photos, she was quite hesitant. She was doing it for her Mom since she doesn't like taking pictures. I called her to provide specifics about the session and as I began to show her previous graduation sessions and provide ideas she became more excited and open to the concept. Courtney is from Northern CA and moved to Southern CA to attend CSULB. She will receive her degree in nursing and she currently works for a senior living facility in Seal Beach. I really enjoyed her company during the shoot. She soon learned that getting that right look can sometimes feel a bit awkward but after showing her a few of the photos in my camera, she felt confident with the session. After sharing her online proofing gallery, she sent me an email that made my day, she wrote - "Let me start by saying that you made it really hard to choose…never before have I liked so many pictures taken of me. You are really talented." That's my goal as a photographer so I'm so excited that Courtney loves her photos and her Mom has a keepsake of this milestone in her daughter's life.
