Arvin took Marina to Manhattan beach for their first Valentine's date. How appropriate to capture their engagment portraits back in the spot when they were newly love birds. It was a bright, hot sunny day. We went to Starbucks to cool down and soon thereafter the sky became dark and Marina was freezing in her summer top. That didn't stop them from rolling up their jeans to play in the water. We started early enough to get a variety of shots in addition to the great beach shots.
Portrait at Downtown Long Beach
My friend Eric lives in a very cool loft in downtown LB. The first time I visited I wanted to set up a photo session in the building. Eric and his girlfriend were great models as we strolled around the historic Walker building and surrounding areas. We stumbled upon this great brick wall and it couldn't have had a more relative and humorous ad.

Engagement Portrait in Palos Verdes Estates, The Neighborhood Church
Rancho Palos Verdes Estates offers a variety of majestic scenery. It served as a great location for Julie & Jaymie's engagement session. Julie plays pro beach volleyball & wanted to include some beach shots. They changed their attire for the beach which is such a great idea because you get a variety of photographs that have a different look and feel. It was a gorgeous day and even though we started early, the sunset was in motion by the time we hit the beach. The clouds made for a beautiful lit sky that continued to change and amaze us.

Portrait in Whittier
A rained out day kept us local vs. our intent of shooting at Union Station in LA. It turned out to be a great day indoors. A beautiful model, Erica & a make-up artist, Maria & Linares Photography's house kept us dry and served as our studio. The house is being renovated so we utilized what was at hand and worked with what we had. It was a fun, pizza eating and wine drinking day.

Bridal session photography at Lakewood Country Club, Lakewood
During my downtime at the bridal fair, I saw the model in the limo from my booth and ran out to get some shots. I was hard for me to return & work the bridal booth with such a beautiful model and prop at hand.

Wedding Photography at Pacific Edge Hotel, Pacific Villa, Laguna Beach
Such a young, beautiful & sweet couple. They met on the 4th of July in Malibu, that's romantic in and of itself. Pacific Villa is an intimate venue on the beach. It's a beach house that serves as a beautiful location to hold both the wedding ceremony and reception. Their ceremony was unique in that it was five minutes long. This took me by surprise since the itinerary indicated twenty minutes...wow! With that said, there are some great shots capturing their quick vows. Leila looked stunning in her gown. From her necklace to her Stewart Weitzman shoes, it's obvious she has impeccable style & grace. Z cater, It Takes Two DJ, Rossmoor Bakery & Makeup by Berit all did a fantastic job in working together to make Leilia & Matt's wedding flawless.

Children Portrait in Whittier
This is Aiden's second photo session. I photographed him at 8 months and here he is at 1. Last time he was distracted by the sand on the beach. This time it was the dirt and grass. I think he's just a bit camera shy. Aiden's big brown eyes are so beautiful, the photos where he's looking up was due to planes flying overhead. Mom & Dad as well as myself were making fools of ourselves to get him to look up but we were out done by the airplanes. Happy Birthday Aiden.
