Wedding photography at Earl Burns Japanese Garden, Long Beach

I absolutely adore Emily & Derek. I was so excited when they told me that they wanted me to be their wedding photographer. They're huge Dodger fans so they got a permit and reservation to have their engagement session at the Dodger stadium. How exciting is that? Check out what they did with one of their engagement photos. I'm not fond of having a matted photo for signatures but this one was super cool. Aside from the awesome engagement session, their wedding was held at one of my favorite venues, The Japanese Garden. Emily & Derek did a "first look." When Derek turned around to see his beautiful bride, his expression said it all. It was such a precious moment to witness and capture that special moment. They wrote their own vows which were so romantic and genuine. The day was beautiful indeed and one to be fondly remembered by their family and friends. Thank you Marina Linares for second shooting. You really captured some beautiful romantics of Emily & Derek.

Michaella lives in PA and came to CA to see her hometown boyfriend, Justin, who's in the Military. She wanted to take some photos before Justin's deployment. They wanted a beach setting so we hit Bayshore Park and the main beach. Unfortunately, the weather took a sudden change. Clouds rolled in and it was pretty socked in. We were going to change locations but they had their heart set on the beach. The pictures came out great considering the grey sky but I felt black and white would look best for what was captured. I love when out of state clients find me when they are looking for portraits in Cali. My favorite photo is where they are in front of the boat. It reminds me of a Ralph Lauren ad. I left one photo in color for an indication of the weather. Thank you so much Michaella for entrusting me with capturing your time spent together. May Justin have a safe return and be back in your arms soon.
