Wedding photography at LaPalapa, Long Beach

Crystal and Joey were so fortunate to have beautiful weather for their beach wedding in February. Cyrstal was working on other arrangements in the event of rain but our sunny Cali weather came through. The service was a beautiful catholic church wedding and transitioned to a casual beach setting for their reception. One highlight was the 1961 Bentley that escorted the newlyweds like two movie stars. The sun cast such a beautiful light on the beach for their romantic portraits, I didn't want it to end. Cyrstal didn't hire an event planner but she prepared and planned the day as a hired professional would. They aced their choreographed dance incorporating two romantic dips. Later in the evening they changed into their classic Filipino attire while they once again choreographed a game of human musical chairs with their guests. Thank you Crystal & Joey, it was an honor capturing your wedding day. Thank you Maribel for all your help and creativity second shooting.

Wedding photography at Queen Mary, Long Beach

You take a risk with booking a outdoor wedding in February. It had poured the night before Jan-Maree & Jim's big day but cleared up for their intimate wedding aboard the Queen Mary. Due to the elements, they decided to hold the ceremony indoors rather than the outside gazebo. The Queen Mary has a quaint little chapel and that's where they exchanged their vows amongst close family & friends. Jan-Maree's mother and brother traveled from Australia to witness the day. The weather cleared up enough to capture some beautiful photos of the bride and groom as we strolled the entire length of the ship. The sky was in constant transformation from clear blue to patchy clouds to fog and mist. Such a dramtic scene to see such a beautful bride and handsome groom taking in the spectacular views. I find something new every time I photograph aboard the Queen. The reception was at Sir Winstons where the guests gathered in the bar and treated me to a Sculpin brew at the end of my shift...one of my favorite beers now. I absolutely loved Jan-Maree and Jim's spirit. They are so much fun to be around and I hope to remain in touch with such a warm hearted husband and wife. A big thank you to Maribel Farina for second shooting and as always capturing some amazing shots.

Downtown Portrait

David was selected to take part in Los Alamito's High School's Every 15 Minutes program. The portrait session was a result of the program requiring a photo of him and his Mom wanted a professional and recent photo. I rarely get male clients so I was really excited to photograph David. The session was similiar to a senior session in which I hope to book more of since I really enjoy working with high school students. David's photo will be posted around the campus so my hope is that he's proud and not embarrassed by it. The first photo was David's selection. The rest are a few of my favorites from our stroll along the streets of Downtown Long Beach.
