I thoroughly enjoyed this engagement session because of the appropriate combination of seriousness and playfulness between Jansen and Chamroeun. They asked for guidance at the start of their shoot but, in no time, they began voluntarly enjoying each other's company as they would naturally. One minute, I got that sultry magazine style look and the next minute, they were throwing leaves at each other and in the air. Having this connection is very key to a healthy relationship...they know how to have fun together regardless of the situation. Once they felt comfortable displaying their affection for one another in front of the camera, they didn't need much direction. It was such a joy to be able to capture this special moment in time.
Family Portrait, Long Beach
This was Alicia and Keith's second portrait session with their adorable little boy, Nathan. It was so great to see all the Christmas cards adorned with one of my photos. Nathan didn't care for sitting down with his parents, he was happier with wandering and walking about and playing in the leaves. It's tough to pull off a fall portrait look since our seasons blend into one another. This spot served us well for a fall inspired family portrait.
