Engagement Portraits

Phil and Kristen are both wildlife biologist so of course their engagement session consisted of some wildlife. Ok, well that's a bit of a stretch since we took these lovely shots in Huntington Beach. They brought along a bottle of Bob wine from Whalebone winery in Paso Robles...one of my favorite places to visit. It's the wine they shared when Phil proposed to Kristen, isn't that sweet? The evening was enhanced with the sound of big band music resonating from the summer concert. Their personality's really shined towards the end of their session as Kristen got a piggy back ride and they both almost fell down as Kristen gave Phil a big smack on the cheeck. This all makes for great, fun loving photos. I'm looking forward to their wedding day in March, 2014.

Engagement Portrait Huntington Beach Central Park

Amanda and Ryan's wedding is soon approaching. It was great to share some time with them prior to their big day. This romantic couple had no problems with PDA (Public Display of Affection). I actually had to tell them to not kiss so much because they would have been kissing in every photo. Buster and Shelby were happy to join in on the engagement session since it led to a nice long walk. Amanda and Ryan were troopers. There was an area where the grounds were a bit swampy but I knew it would make for a nice shot. At the end of the portrait session, Amanda's wedge heels were covered in mud but she didn't focus on it. This is how I know I will not have a bridezilla on my hands. Just kidding Amanda. I'm really looking forward to capturing their wedding day in October.

Wedding photography at Earl Burns Japanese Garden, Long Beach

I absolutely adore Emily & Derek. I was so excited when they told me that they wanted me to be their wedding photographer. They're huge Dodger fans so they got a permit and reservation to have their engagement session at the Dodger stadium. How exciting is that? Check out what they did with one of their engagement photos. I'm not fond of having a matted photo for signatures but this one was super cool. Aside from the awesome engagement session, their wedding was held at one of my favorite venues, The Japanese Garden. Emily & Derek did a "first look." When Derek turned around to see his beautiful bride, his expression said it all. It was such a precious moment to witness and capture that special moment. They wrote their own vows which were so romantic and genuine. The day was beautiful indeed and one to be fondly remembered by their family and friends. Thank you Marina Linares for second shooting. You really captured some beautiful romantics of Emily & Derek.
