Graduation Portraits

When Courtney first contacted me about taking her graduation photos, she was quite hesitant. She was doing it for her Mom since she doesn't like taking pictures. I called her to provide specifics about the session and as I began to show her previous graduation sessions and provide ideas she became more excited and open to the concept. Courtney is from Northern CA and moved to Southern CA to attend CSULB. She will receive her degree in nursing and she currently works for a senior living facility in Seal Beach. I really enjoyed her company during the shoot. She soon learned that getting that right look can sometimes feel a bit awkward but after showing her a few of the photos in my camera, she felt confident with the session. After sharing her online proofing gallery, she sent me an email that made my day, she wrote - "Let me start by saying that you made it really hard to choose…never before have I liked so many pictures taken of me. You are really talented." That's my goal as a photographer so I'm so excited that Courtney loves her photos and her Mom has a keepsake of this milestone in her daughter's life.

Engagement Portrait, Long Beach

Wendy and Mike are getting married aboard the Queen Mary in June. Wendy had seen some previous engagement sessions I've done at the lighthouse and wanted to incorporate a few of her portraits with the ship in the background. They of course were nervous in the beginning but gradually became more comfortable in front of the camera. Their love story began in nursing school in Palmdale. They started studying together for exams and eventually began dating. Mike got a job at a local hospital while Wendy found a job in Signal Hill. Mike was very supportive and even helped her find a place to live. It was a long distance relationship & Mike would drive out to see Wendy whenever he got the opportunity. A position at Wendy's job became available & Mike jumped at the opportunity to relocate to Signal Hill with her. They put their careers first but it didn't keep them apart for long. I'm looking forward to capturing the love birds on their big day aboard the lovely Queen Mary.

Engagement Portrait Fullerton

I was so excited when Jayne said she wanted to dress up in 20's attire for her engagement session. We had planned a train theme in Fullerton but the stationed train was gated and locked. I have never photographed in downtown Fullerton but we made the best of our surroundings and I have to say, the photos came out adorable. We really didn't have a game plan after the train situation but stumbled into some interesting murals, alleyways and restaurants as we cruised the streets. Jayne and Steve are getting married in May at the Skyroom which has a 20's era decor. She's enlarging a photo from the engagement session to display at her wedding. They were really fun to hang out with and they are so laid back...my favorite type of client. Well, Jayne can be a bit of a stress ball but in a good way. I can't wait to capture their wedding next month.
